Wait - so you're telling me you DIDN'T put Mutant League Football and Mutant League Hockey on there? I'm impressed with the mention of Blades of Steel - but if you haven't played the Mutant League, you're missing out on an outstanding arcade sports experience. Take NFL Blitz, add dynamite, mutated players, trick plays, traps, pits, and the ability to kill other players, and you have Mutant League. I suggest if you have a Sega Genesis, that you pick them up and give them a shot, maybe you can have a new iteration of awesome sports games, but excellent article!

Blades of Steel was the best. I remember everyday after school going over my friend's house on Dewey Parker Drive in Audubon to play this game. He would get so upset if he lost a fight he would knock over his bowl of Bugles and stomp off in his Dave Poulin jersey.

how is excite bike not included on this list? and maybe its a push but. pro wrestling should be there too. we all know now its not a real sport, but none of us thought this in 1987.
